Mr. Jones
Newb Here! I have a redhat 8 box running vsftp that has numerous user accounts setup. I have a new redhat 9 box waiting to go in. I have backed up all the users's data via FTP. But is there any conf/config file that I can save to allow the same un/pw's so I won't have to re-create again. TIA! fush
Is vsftp authenticating against the unix passwd file or is it coming from its own password database. If its authenticating against the unix passwd file and you have the same encryption scheme for that file on both boxes it should be a pretty simple cut and paste operation. Add the correct entries to the passwd and shadow files and you should be good. -jeff
Casper
/home/ftpsecure/etc/passwd should do the trick, let me know if not
Casper
unless you're authenticating with PAM, which in this case PM me
