copperhead
adaware spybot download either, or both, of those programs. they should be on http://www.download.com those programs should get rid of most, if not all of the spyware you have on your computer, which is what you said was infected. Casper
a trojan horse downloader isn't actually a virus. it sucks. norton's will not remove it. basically it is a program you've installed that continues to download programs. these programs say they're spyware/adware removers, but in reality they themselves are spyware and adware. removing these are a fucking bitch. i think the developers of this software should be shot. with that said, here's how to try to get rid of it: First, do as Blowzilla said. Update your antivirus definitions. Next, download Adaware and update it. Next, download SpyBot and update it. Reboot in safe mode. Scan with your antivirus, Adaware, and then SpyBot. Fix any problems. Now remove the key from the registry by: 1. Click Start, and then click Run. (The Run dialog box appears.) 2. Type regedit Then click OK. (The Registry Editor opens.) 3. Navigate to the key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run 4. In the right pane, delete the value: "IST Service" = "C:\Program Files\ISTsvc\ISTsvc.exe" 5. Navigate to and delete the key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\ISTsvc 6. Exit the Registry Editor. Now you should be able to reboot and be good to go. If not, hit me up. I'll give you a couple of other suggestions / ideas.
black00ws6
Norton won't remove it because Norton sucks.. McAfee has removed programs like these on systems I service but either you have to start in safe mode, or stop the process with the task manager.
