Need reccomendation for DVD (video) burning software

Right now I've got an OEM (anemeic) version of Nero "Express" 6. I also have Nero Vision Express 2.

 

They both suck, well Nero Express6 at least works.

 

Nero vision keeps ruining my DVD's. I know it's not the burner, because it burns data DVDs and audio CDs just fine.

 

What software do you use to encode, create play menus, and burn video DVD's?

I use Nero along with DVD shrink to burn DVD movies and never had one bad. But that is all I have done with it.

I have no idea where you work, but if you could drop by and show me why it keeps eating dvds (I DL'ed the full version of nero, and it ate another!) I would appreciate it.
