Motor is mechanically sound, but it develops a misfire after it warms up. Purchased with a suspicion of a distributor problem, but I could not invest enough time to determine the root cause.

As much as I love hatchbacks and Honda's, I don't have the time for it. my project DSM > my project CRX

askin $2K OBO

(the motor and Hasport mounts would run you 1600 w/o shipping from hmotorsonline.com)

some background info...

The car was in the process being built for one of the NASA Honda challenges, by the previous owner. He ran into some financial difficulties from a nagging divorce, and I took over the project thinking I would have some time to invest, into making it a daily driver for a short ~10 mile commute. I focused a great deal of my spring/summer working on my DSM and didn't have the motivation to dig deeper into the car.

It has both door panels, a passenger seat, and maybe a rear seat (i'm not completely sure of it).

'89 CRX

JDM b16a1 motor

dc sports header

homemade 2.5" exhaust

no hvac

no radio

no carpet

common rust spots

The car has a new distributor, plugs, and wires. Since I bought the car in March, it has been driven a couple times around the block and 35 miles to my parents home.

I believe it has the PR3 ecu. I've never checked if it was throwing codes. Correct me if I'm wrong, but is that one has an LED on the ecu itself?

I honestly don't have time for this thing or else I would just put a weekend into the car to get it running right and beat the shit out of it at the track and auto-x's. I'll reiterate....

project DSM, EE degree, job search > project CRX 120 miles away

somebody pick it up, you won't be dissapointed

yea it is the LED on the top of the ECU itself. All you have to do is turn the key to "ACC" count the flashes then look it up, and that is prob. your problem.

Is the car actually driveable? Once it develops a misfire can you still drive it or does it just die out?

I replaced the distributor, wires, and plugs to no avial. I bought the car last march and probably put about 4 hours into the car.

Civicpowered, I think I've met you at Jegs before. I rock the DSM, but I always end up talking to the Honda guys. Your CRX is red, correct?
