Ehhh, emissions legal, emissions shemegal. Too much money for too little power IMO. With what they were doing, a basically stock shortblock, bigger/better heads/intake/cam and an EFI setup would have resulted in bigger power w/ no effect on emissions. Hell, throwing in a stock LS1 crate motor would have resulted in the same power for less $$. Hell, for what their motor budget was, they probably could have went with an LS6 or LS2 crate motor!

True, but where would that have left the article? Alot of times, magazines will post any idea, reguardless of if its good or not. I once read a Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords column in which they suggested drilling a hole in the throttle plate, instead of replacing the IAC. Dumb, but good enough reading that I remembered it x years later.

It certinaly serves a purpose. People in california would find it usefull for trying to get a little more performance and still pass the sniffer. Also, the resto people that want to keep emissions shit intact so the can go back to factory original for resale. If nothing else, just a good test of what you can do on the technology of yesteryear.
