Bud+get = onda cheep. I may out a tranny in the cougar with some of my Fed return check, but I've got to stay cheap. I can get a stout direct bolt in AOD for less then a swap to a used T5. I'd much rathr have a nice manual, but they aint cheap, nor are the parts, or labor for the swap. New AOD = 1 day job.

but you have to have the aode trans for this shit to work..

And the aod or the aode are not very strong at all, untill they are modified. Either way not cheap...

 

Have you ever thought of a Rachet shifter like a B&M mega shifter?

I need to downshift. AOD's are week, but cheap enough to almost be disposable via junkyard supplies. Modified trannies arent that hard to come bay, and are much cheaper then the modified 4R70W I bought for my Tbird.

actualy, with tha cable idea, the plan was to forgo the shifter all together and work directly with the linkage there'in.
