JOB TITLE: PC Support Specialist

 

DIVISION: Corporate; IT

 

DATE: 3/28/2005

 

PURPOSE:According to prescribed policies and procedures and under the general supervision of the Help Desk Manager and assumes responsibility for the technical support of facility PC hardware and software. The PC Support Specialist’s role is to work with PC Technician to ensure the stable operations of the NCR computer systems. This includes installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all computer hardware, software, and communication links. The person will also analyze and resolve end user hardware and software computer problems in a timely fashion.

 

 

 

 

TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

· Provides technical support for all personal computers and peripherals in the Central Office and Housing facilities. Perform analysis, diagnosis and resolution of complex PC problems for a variety of end users. Recommend and implement corrective hardware solutions, including off-site repair as needed.

 

· Responsible for shipping and setup of personal computer and related hardware for the Central Office and Housing facilities as requested.

 

· Responsible for working with field personnel via phone to trouble shoot and resolve a variety of computer problems including, but limited to: internet connection issues, router setup, PC setup, hardware problems, software problems, printer problems, etc.

 

· Supports other functions within Information Technologies Department as appropriate.

 

· Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Education: Internship position. Some College coursework; degree not required.

 

Experience: None.

 

Certifications: None

 

Part-time position (approx 20 hours) per week. Exact work hours are flexible between 8am - 6pm depending on an individual's schedule / availability. Starting pay is $10/hour.
