XChris1632X
im swapping out a TH350 in an old truck and i know somethings are different such as all the parts i already have (dipstick, converter, driveshaft) but what else do i need to look for when swapping these two. infact i dont remember seeing a place for the kickdown cable anywhere on that trans. if someone can give me some pointers or advise let me know. nurkvinny
Search Google. There are some very good sites for TH350 / TH400 differences.
Lustalbert
TH 400 (usually) uses an electric switch to activate the kickdown. Requires a switch be mounted to the throttle bracket on your carb. Difrent length, so your crossmember will need to be modified. Long tail vs. short tail. Its heavier. Having some help would be good for lining it up. Browning
With the 400 you are also gonna lose about 15-20 horses. Nows the perfect time to make a crossmember to your liking.
