picked up a 96 Probe SE 2.0 4cyl for a ridiculous price.

has 82k original miles, 1 owner, all maintenance documented, oil changes, brakes, eveyrthign is documented. even the original window sticker, owners manual and shit.

the guy had this car forever. bough tit brand new from ricart, title says he payed $15,239.50

interior is impecable, exterior has one small dent on rear quarter (can be pulled) has no rust whatsoever.

the bad.. tranny is junk.

he has the tranyn replaced at 60k at aamco, and 3 years later it started acting up again.

i drove it back from westerville and it slipped from 1-2, and 3-4, and would not go into overdrive. the OD light jsut kept flashing, and the revs would keep going up.

so right now its in the garage on jack stand getting ready for the tranny to drop. i got pretty much everythign out, im having a bitch of a time getting the driver side axel not to come out. after thats out she can drop.. and then off to get parts and then the install.

ive read up alot on these auto trannys, and they are pretty much junk. everyone one i read had the same problem. so i will be doing a 5 spd swap into the car and will be daily driving this to work and back. shouldnt have more than $200 in parts, and alot of labor.

im kind of exicted, ive never bought a 1 owner car before, especially one that was kept this nice and documented. i thgoth about fixing and selling the car, but its just to nice to sell for what ill have in it.

here are some pics.

Damn that is a nicely maintained car. My dad had a 94 Probe GT 6cyl before he got his M3, and just judging by the condition of that car, he probably took as good care of it as my dad did of his. I'd be interested to know what you paid for that car, considering that kbb could never accurately price the TLC that car has recieved.
