excell
Is it as strong/reliable? What other cars/trucks do they use it in?
rl
stock it will die near 100k miles. They can be built to handle ungodly amounts of power and abuse.
twistedfocus1647545489
They were used only in trucks/vans as far as I know. Most commonly big-block F250's and such. The later year the better, as they had made improvements over the years. A company called Bauman makes some "upgrade" internals to the later model spec parts. excell
Cool guys, appreciate the info. I want to buy a new truck, and I have been HEAVILY looking at the Gen II Lightning. But I'm afraid if I buy one, that it will sit in my garage and I'll rub it with a diaper instead of using it as a truck. I need a truck to do some beating on and not be all pissed off if I get a rock chip on it - so I started looking into the Gen I Lightning. I still remember a lot about the Windsor motors as well, so the 5.8 should come natural to me. So, just trying to decide what to look for in my next truck. Thanks.
