speedline Posted July 14, 2006 Report Share Posted July 14, 2006 my 97 gtp has a 195 tstat and it runs 160 on the highway and 200-210 in the city.... i dont know why the ac would go that shouldnt cause that. my ac clutch is locking up and is getting ready to explode. probably electrical it is gm.......unless there is some kind of safe mode in the pcm... nurkvinny Posted July 14, 2006 Report Share Posted July 14, 2006 Maybe a setting in your ECU telling the compresser to unlock under certain temps and/or conditions? Maybe the ECU is killing the auxilary AC fan at low temps, causing your poor AC performance? Condition of your coolant will not affect your AC system.
