finally started it and...

runs like shit pops spits plugs are black timing is set right

 

 

any suggestions?????

 

the carb dumps fuel (more than it should)

 

im in the middle of rebuilding the carb hopefully this fixes the problem

 

after that all i can think of is a wiped cam lobe

 

 

 

 

(its almost like it ran better with the dist. 180 deg out will this cause the fuel to just go out the exh. side????

 

im sure i left some things out any questions you have to maybe help diag the prob please ask

any help would be appriciated

 

 

cuz im an idiot is a windsor motor and the carb is a quick fuel 750 mech secondary

Are all 8 plugs black? Are they wet as well?

 

Dirt in the needle and seat?

 

This is a common problem on Holley based carbs. Also make sure the float level is set properly.

 

Eric if you are still having problems, give me a buzz. I could easily swing by one night after work.

fireing order was off but i still need to put diff jets in it (fronts are 74 from quick fuel it has 80's in it) and it dosnt seem to idle below 1500 rpms so besides the jets and having someone adjust the floats and idle air screws im at a loss so it is now a carb issue

I hate too tell you something, but..

 

 

there are 2 firing orders for 302s.....the 302ho has the same firing order as a 351..

 

but some cams are cut on the old 302 firing order!!!
