yellowsnake Posted September 19, 2006 Report Share Posted September 19, 2006 I have a 97 chevy 4x4, I'm changing the upper and lower ball joints, I need to know what size is the nut in the niddle of the "axle" to take off the drive axle. its bigger then a 1"1/16 but i dont know the size and i dont wana go buy a bunch of them. Guest Removed Posted September 19, 2006 Report Share Posted September 19, 2006 impact gun too hit it with or a big rachet and a pipe as a lever extension, you could warm up the control arm and drive it out, but iv seen them crack down the road and the ball jiont fall out from over heating it.
