HotCarl
I went to play BLACK a few weeks ago and all it said was "disc read error". I tried a few other games and got the same message. Then i tried to watch a movie and sure enough, "disc read error". Does anyone know if this is a common occurance is old ps2's? I bought it when i was a senior in high school, 4 years ago. is there a fix? To be honest i hardly ever play games on it anymore and use it just as much for a dvd player as a game console. If its broken i wont cry about it, i may just have to buy a 360, 360's play dvd's right?
Rally Pat
The disc read error is a common PS2 problem. There is a way to fix it, bit it involves taking apart the dvd-rom drive and moving the gear that controls the lense distance to/from the disk surface. It isnt hard to do, I have done it before, it just takes some time. http://arstechnica.com/articles/paedia/hardware/ps2.ars
