V8 Beast
I have no choice but to get a race transmission. I just lost 2nd gear in a built tranny. If someone gives me $19k you can have this fucking car.
93fox
Damn, you must be making some decent power if you can throw out a gear like that. How much would a race tranny cost you? Good luck

MrMeanGreen
Rossler 4L65E w/ trans-brake. Your tranny may just suck, I'm right behind you in power and I'm fine and have been for years. IM me.
V8 Beast
Its acting the same way the last tranny did so I'm wondering if maybe the stalls not grabbing. I've already put too much money into this car. I'm going to sleep on it, but this thing may be up for sale tomorrow.... I wanted a Z06 anyway. rl
The old tranmission was trashed judging by the way the fluid smelled. It took 2 cans of line flush to clean the old cooler...
Guest Hal
Brian, you made good power, you're on the right track. I would just look into what's wrong with the tranny and see where you need to go from there.
V8 Beast
Just went and tested it again. 2nd is fine, 3rd is gone.

Big A
+1 on finding out what is wrong with it first, what is causing it, and how much it will cost to fix. If the price is to high then I say try sell it and get somethin else better.
MrMeanGreen
Check your tune. When mine was converted from HPT to EFIL, it "lost" the shift pressure tables which caused my tranny to slip at certain times. After a rebuild, it did it again and figured it out by looking at the new file in LS1 Edit and filling in the missing tables.
98fiveseven1647545503
BUILT TH400 with a brake! FTW!!!!!!! I may have a friend that can get you a decent deal if you would be interested. PM if so
MrMeanGreen
Keep your OD, especially with the computer control and the fact that 4L60(5)Es can be built for 8s. If you need more, 4L80E and still keep everything PCM controlled. Plus, converting to a Turbo-Hydramatic is a PITA, then there's the shifter fun. RUTAN TA1647545492
Brian, does your fluid smell burnt again?
V8 Beast
Im going to have it looked at before I do anything drastic. The tranny has no smell at all. I'm hoping for an easy fix... this is one messed up b-day present

Billiumss
One of the guys I tuned has that tranny and it works great for him, shifts when ever you tell it. He puts down around 550-575 Hp at the wheels (With N20) and does mid to low 10's in the 1/4. Maybe just bad luck for you, did it come with any kind of warranty? Science Abuse
Cut'n'run OMG! At least your tranny didn't take it's leave like mine did. Once again, I apologize to everyone I sprayed with fluid. Get a racing tranny, you wont regret it.
V8 Beast
I have decided not to drive the car off of a cliff. I'm going to call the tranny shop that built it and cuss them out. Then I'm going to see how much it is to fix it. I may end up shipping my old tranny to Rossler... we'll see.

For some reason I thought you said in one of you posts that you had a Rossler, that was why I posted the above.
