For $9 I figure its worth a shot. evan9381 Posted April 8, 2007 Report Share Posted April 8, 2007 ive used it before as well...couple tips for engine degreaser, use the foaming kind. i tried the more liquid-y kind, and it seemed to eat away some of the electrical packing grease or whatever is in with the connectors...both times after i used the non foaming, my speedometer didnt work correctly for a couple days. when using the foaming kind, cover the whole bay, let it sit 15-20 min, rinse off (light spray), and then cover again, and go over with a long bristle flimsy brush...it will get a lot of stuff off and finally, the detailer says to just spray on and let sit, but i found out if you do this, it will make it look like water spots everywhere. let it sit about 10 min and then just rub it in like you would armor all on your dash this was on my old elantra. night and day difference before http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y267/evan938/PICT4931.jpg after http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y267/evan938/PICT4937.jpg Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Skinner Posted April 9, 2007 Report Share Posted April 9, 2007 armor all foaming tire gloss is all it takes. spary it on let it set for 10 mins wipe down anywhere there are pubbles and let the engine run for 10 min it'll be clean and not as greasy. Its so easy that my son can do it **cheesy laugh**. If you order within the next 30 minutes we will throw in a free copy of the Best of Chuck Norris, and Knight Rider Season 1 on VHS!!!! 88lx5oh Posted April 9, 2007 Report Share Posted April 9, 2007 yeah as others have stated. just use any engine degreaser, i use Honda engine degreaser cause i get it for free, then use some armor all or the likes spray it down and then let it soak for a few, soak up puddles with rag, start motor let idle for a few minutes then shut it down and enjoy. i tend to wipe down all the metal , cause a pressure washer or hose usually doesnt get alot of the grime off, even go further with a brush and get the nooks and crannies. but jax wax does make some of the finest engine detail spray out there. stuff stays on longer than any other product ive used. the gloss look makes the bay look nice, but if you can get it back to what it looked factory, wiht just a nice sheen and clean as a pin then youll be really happy. hard to do, but it looks amazing. 88lx5oh Posted April 9, 2007 Report Share Posted April 9, 2007 on a side note, i clean/degrease the engine bays on my cars atleast once every 2 months. makes it nice when you do any work. i mena i dont do alot of work on my vehicles being they are daily drivers, but just doing oil changes on them, and popping the hood to see a clean bay makes it nice. also in the future it will help wiht resale value. the same goes wiht cleaning the underside of the hood, door jams, trunk or hatch jams, and undercarriage. Took it to work, sprayed some of our degreaser on it, sprayed it off with a powerwasher, sprayed our engine shine and just let it sit. Not to bad...
