Mitch
Cypress Hill's first two albums are classic. How can there be a post about old school rap without Beastie Boys license to ill and Run DMC Its tricky being mentioned? License to Ill was the first cassette I ever bought. zeitgeist57
M.C. Breed - Ain't No Future in Yo' Frontin' P.S...it's "Geto Boys", not "Ghetto Boys". Sheesh. How can you forget Bushwick Bill? Homeboy got crunked up and shot his eye out in a failed suicide attempt, and the band used the hospital photo on their album cover. Good guys! Also, the first album I ever owned is Big Daddy Kane - "Long Live the Kane". Great old school stuff with Biz Markie. Also, first rap single was Kool Moe Dee's "They Want Money". That's old school to me (mid to late 80s). Stuff from the early 90's is when I was in middle school/high school and is still recognized even today. Cypress Hill, Beasties, Fugees, Ice Cube, Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, B.I.G., Tupac, Digable Planets, Pete Rock and C.L. Smooth, etc...
