Buck531
What do you think about the "mom and pop" type car dealerships. Not the franchise ones. The small ones with say 30 or so cars there on the corner. There's one around the corner from me and have some halfway decent looking/priced cars. The only thing I'm concerned with is the reliability. I know that the smaller lots tend to hide stuff and make the car LOOK good, but don't do shit to the mechanical side of the car. Thoughts? Stick with the bigger dealerships?
Drewhop
I can only speak from personal experience. But i worked for Large Dealership and now i work for a mom and pop type dealership and i really love it. Just depends on the people who run it. The large dealership can have employees that are cutting corners. And do not get noticed. Mom and pop type can have the same just depends on who runs it. NOS50
I agree.Check the car out from top to bottom no matter who you buy it from. You have snakes everywhere.
OSUGT
I would look to see how long they have been in business. Those smaller dealerships have to rely on word of mouth. If they sell crap, they won't be around long. Good luck.
copperhead
All dealerships will do the bare minimum to a car to get it out the door. A lot of the smaller lots are buy here, pay here, so just watch out for that and make sure you know what you are getting in to, otherwise I would definitely check them out if they have what you are looking for. SamZman
If you're talking about Gahanna Auto Sales, my dad is friend's with the owner, Steve Leitwein. He's a real nice guy and very reputable.. Him and his son, Greg, run the place. And yeah whenevever I drive by they have some nice cars over there. They have been there for quite a while and should stand behind their cars from what I hear.
Guest thekingofcrunk17
I think gahanna auto sales in over priced though, every time I drive by I see really high prices.
Guest 614Streets
Your fine if you know cars. I work at a used car lot and can say we never sell anything with big issues let alone buy them but occasionally we buy cars with multiple problems and fix all the major ones and price it accordingly. No car ever goes out of my bay without an 88 point inspection and saftey is #1. Ask the lot you shop at if they have a inspection report , any reputable lot should have them and allow you full acess to read the report. We never disclose the repairs but if a person should ask for the inspection report they will see everything they need to see.
Dr. Apex
I found my Pathfinder at the dealer on the corner of 161 and Westerville rd by auto exotica, they were straight forward with me about pricing and so far my truck has been problem free. Some are good, some won't be. Just have to give them a try maybe.
Buck531
The one in question is on the corner of Stygler and Johnstown Rd in Gahanna. Looks like they have some older cars (mid-late 90's). Its' next to Rosetti's. I'll swing by when I get a few minutes and check out the cars. They seemed to be fair priced, however, they probably have at least 100k miles on each car there.
