You can even build a GTR out of 240. I am told the bolt holes are there for the ATTESA system. OVERNIGHT PARTS FROM JAPAN??? Even if that isn't true, just look at the shit they sell...the CRX on the site, the turbo'd Celica (big fuckin whoop), the ricey-ass RX-8. If only I knew cars as much I do now, I would not have got the car. It was pretty quick, but had WAY too many problems. Should've been low 13sec, but it was more like high 14sec...Rob(Gearhead) could probly tell you more about it. Funny thing is, that civic led me to meet some friends that I'm glad to have now, along with my beautiful fiance. Strang how things work. There were electrical issues with the computer and VAFC, the turbo's fan had play, 2nd gear would lose grip at higher boost, and #2 cylinder was running lean(which lead to spun bearing and cracked piston). You make your own opinon on what you think of them, not from what other people think. I had a bad experience, but that doesn't mean I'm telling you not to buy a vehicle from them. Thats your call. With in a week, stuff started breaking on it. It seemed as soon as one thing was fixed, something else did. It has been to long ago for me to remember what all was wrong with it. My sister made a bad choice. When I was in college, I had a strange obsesion with the new VW Beetles Turbos. I was really good friends with one of the sales guys at Byer's Imports and I would stop there after classes and he would let me drive them. So I knew quite a bit about them and their pricing. One day I saw Denny Dotson's had a base model Beetle and I figured I would stop in and at least see how much he wanted for it. The car had 28K miles on it and he wanted 2 grand less than a brand new turbo model. I told him that they were out of there mind to sell that car for that price since you could buy a new one with no miles for less than that. When you buy a car that has been modified for performance, or just riced out, you don't know for sure but you can [generally] accurately guess that it will not have been driven with the greatest care and forethought for the longevity of the car. If I were to buy a modifed car used I would prefer to buy it from the owner, that way I could better gauge if they truly put some time and effort into the car or if it was just something they messed around with and are now getting rid of because it's too much hassle. FWIW my best friend bought a stock version of a fast car from them (e39 M5) and did not have issues with it and was treated well there, but I'm sure there are plenty of contrary stories out there as well. Yeah, research goes a long way in car purchasing. Dealers like Denny Dotson rely on awe factor of faster or ricier cars to get their clientele to make an emotional purchase and throw caution to the wind. All they have to say when a wide-eyed 16 year old ricer waltzes in after taking a spin in an RX-8 or turbo civic or whatever is say "well, we've got another guy who came in earlier and who was very interested and said he'd come back tomorrow" and little Johnny excitedly buys the car without negotiating price or looking into carfax reports or common problems for whatever model car it is. EDIT: I also noticed you have a 95 M3...OBDI i assume, is it stock? My dad's got the same, stock silver/gray 5-spd with the 20-spoke (double 10) wheels, 2dr, spoiler. Always loved the OBDI M3s. I've always wanted a FD, and every time that I see one up at their dealership I cringe at the thought of someone buying one that they don't know the history of. My M3 is no longer stock. Minor motor mods to make it go a bit better and certainly sound better/louder....gotta love the way that 6 sounds on full boil. Suspension wise, not much is stock anymore. TC Kline coilovers 500/500# springs, GC adjustable front bar, adjustable rear camber arms, poly bushings on the front control arms and rear trailing arm bushings. She may not be the fastest thing in a straight line, but I'll never back down from a clover-leaf challenge...haha. I got the car to be a good compromise street/track (the ones with turns) car and I must say that I've never had as much FUN driving anything else I've owned. I agree with you completely, as its IMO one of the best cars for the track that you can call your daily driver and still be comfortable (it takes a lot to make me comfortable...6'3", 250#).
