Ryan218
well here is me and my buddys project...both of us are 15 btw way...who says young people cant work on cars well here's the deal...my buddy bought a 95 3.8 5 speed stang last monday that needed an oil pump...we put a new oil pump on it and had it running perfect. today the engine built to much pressure and blew it out... so we have decided that were putting a motor out of a supercoupe in it... the motor me and my buddy built will be good for about 220rwhp..pretty much a basic rebuild with some porting and cleaning up of heads.....were going to over drive it 15%...5% blower and 10% jackshaft pulley later on and see if we can get around 17lbs out of the ported 93 blower. here is what were starting with...rust free 98k miles with no rust and clear title... :nice: were pulling the 3.8 out after school tuesday... here are the pics..it will be getting painted ect later on..maybe some 18" bullets! http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t302/88Mustang302/0829071614.jpg http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t302/88Mustang302/95mustang3.0tosuperchargedSCmotor006.jpg yanked the engine out today...took about 2 1/2 hours from start to finish....we made a mess all went well and smooth...pretty easy pull.. here are some pics.. http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t302/88Mustang302/95mustang3.0tosuperchargedSCmotor007.jpg http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t302/88Mustang302/95mustang3.0tosuperchargedSCmotor009.jpg

Nate1647545505
FYI on forced induction, specifcally roots style blowers, its not all about psi.... FI motors are also very unforgiving when it comes to tuning, so try to tread lightly. Oh, and nice work, keep it up

94birdman
Nice job. You definitely need to put an LSD in that bitch when you are done with the engine swap. How much did you pay for the SC motor? P.S. Martin would be proud.

Oh, and nice work, keep it up The SC motor handles boost mighty well...my buddie was making 20 psi on a stock (rebuilt) bottom end in his motor with no issues before he sold it. Mine is probably making between 14 and 15 psi daily driven just fine.
Martin
before you try to get 17lbs out of it you need to build up the internals. If your budy has some money see if he can get a 4.2 shortblock since you have the engine already out.then he will be able to beat gts congrats on progress. its always easier to take the old engine out. not that easy to get the new one in, most of the time. o yea get a new intercooler. the stock one kinda sucks
94birdman
Don't listen to martin. Stick with the 3.8 since you already have it and all the parts you need. Save yourself a headache. P.S. That thing should beat a stock gt of the same year. Those SC engines move the 3700 lb t-bird down the track in 14 seconds.
94birdman
I charged him $400 for it...not too bad. Damn that is generous. I saw an intake manifold, injectors w/ rails, M90 w/ plumbing, and pulley set up off of a SC for $800 and thought that was a good deal. Martin
your right birdman. he shouldnt build up the engine before trying to get 17lbs out of it and the stock intercooler is realy good. what was i thinking.

Just put giant injectors in if you are doin' it Martin style. He beats GT's all day.

Martin
alright sorry for shiting on your thread. kevin, wiring harness are pricy and im pretty shure he would find a 5.0 at a junkyard for 500+ and then he would need a speedometer comming from the same motor along with the key or else he would need another 100bucks to get around the whole PATS problem and who else knows what could be wrong with the motor since it has been sitting out in the open for the sky to piss on it. p.s. i have stock injectors. horray for 19lbs
