BIGGU
so some more progress, finally removed the motor transmission, clutch and some other things, ordered my clutch and it should be here soon. clutch doesn't look too bad and either does the flywheel. as soon as its not cold out ill be cleaning the engine bay down. yes that is nasty oil all over the transmission, heat shield and the back of the head. don't remind me about it. http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b107/2zumeunos/SC300/engine%20swap/PICT2295.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b107/2zumeunos/SC300/engine%20swap/PICT2298.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b107/2zumeunos/SC300/engine%20swap/PICT2299.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b107/2zumeunos/SC300/engine%20swap/PICT2300.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b107/2zumeunos/SC300/engine%20swap/PICT2301.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b107/2zumeunos/SC300/engine%20swap/PICT2302.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b107/2zumeunos/SC300/engine%20swap/PICT2303.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b107/2zumeunos/SC300/engine%20swap/PICT2306.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b107/2zumeunos/SC300/engine%20swap/PICT2307.jpg

TitusS2k
Damn packy, Movin up. If i were you and your building this car from the ground up. Strip the engine bay, close up holes that wont be used and spray and clearcoat it. I know its not a b series honda but, rock out a clean engine bay while the motor is out and while your not under any time pressure!

HAOLE
Why did you choose the 1jzgte over the 2jzgte?
boosted98gst
Why did you choose the 1jzgte over the 2jzgte? my first guess would be the price.
BIGGU
my first guess would be the price. deffinitly price, for a 2jz-gte with 6 speed your looking at spending around 6k on the motor and tranny alone. 1jz is close to the same as a 2j its just missing .5 of displacement and the 2jz has bottom end oil squirters. 1jz can hold up to 500-600hp on stock internals just like a 2jz. eventually ill be doing a swap on the motor to a 2jz-gte but only time will tell once i can get my hands on a 6 speed and 2jz-gte. I thought a that the 2JZ bottom end was ableto handle 800 or 900 WHP
HAOLE
I thought a that the 2JZ bottom end was ableto handle 800 or 900 WHP I think the record is over 1k hp on stock internals. I am kind of out of the loop so I am not sure if Peter Blach's record has been broken
BIGGU
dunno prolly just a freak thing, i know theres a few people with 1jz pushing 800 on stock internals but ill never get that much, im only shooting for 450-500 when all said and done. VincentRX7
I had a '93 5 speed with a BL67. It was stock internal with a thicker head gasket to handle the boost. I think it made 550whp. The Lexus tranny did let go 1 time. It was a blast to drive. It was a real sleeper. The only clues were the supra wheels and the front mount....until you hit boost and the wastegate exhaust was really loud. Good luck with your build!
