I hate external antennas. That's where it is on my Formula and it works great. I took the spoiler off my 3 hatchback and put the antenna inside the spoiler. Works great and totally hidden! I like that idea. Mine just sits on the shock tower on the Formula. If I ever get a fiberglass hood for the Avalanche, I'll move it under there too. For now, the antenna sits on the dash; wire comes out of the dash vent. Barely noticable and doesn't look out of place due to the shape of the dash. I put it on the front of my boat, since people walk around so much it is easy to block the signal over it. It stays perfectly with double-sided tape (even after getting wet a lot).
