thinking of getting a new car

I got the Altima for under invoice.

The Lexus's are very nice cars, but they are gas hogs... I was looking for a new car because I can't afford the gas in the GP... so far, I've done nothing but in town driving and the trip computer is saying that I'm averaging 28mpg.... let's see the IS250 do 28mpg in the City or highway.

as far as price... dude, I don't know where you're getting your numbers, I just looked on Lexus.com BASE 250 is 30,555 MSRP... no idea what it would cost with all the options...

I got my Altima for 21k OUT THE DOOR... that's including tax and title... and I have the SL which is fully loaded. not base. (I believe the Base Altima's MSRP is 18k and you can talk them below Invoice if you are persistant)

why are you so set on trying to tell me that I should have gotten a Lexus? I'm paying waaaaaaaay less than what I would be paying for the lexus, my insurance is less, way better gas mileage (I'm getting better mileage in town than that gets on the freeway) has comperable power and is FWD instead of RWD... I think I made the best choice...

this isn't a car I'm keeping forever, but it fits my needs just fine for now.

P.S. I just looked up the 0-60 times between the cars, the Altima 2.5SL does 0-60 in 7.8 the IS250 does it in 7.9 so the Altima is actually faster... ;)

i agree, not to mention how impossible it is to actually walk away with an IS250 at its 'base price'. every one you find at a dealer will be loaded with packages that rack up the price fast. the 'base' price is just to lure people into the dealership before they walk out paying 5-6k more than they thought they would.

just filled up my first tank of gas... 580 miles... took 17.516 gallons to fill it up (20 gallon tank)... that's 33 mpg and that's actually quite a bit of in town city driving... I can't complain about that! I don't like that the car's low fuel light comes on when the car gets to a 1/4 tank of gas... that seems a little too soon for me, but what can ya do?
