hpfiend
I would love to see the gym manager try to scold him for dropping the weights... lol I think in this case you write the dumbell replacement off as "advertising"- Also- are those half reps or do you risk shoulder injury by going the full range of motion with that much weight? Or is he that big that that is his full range of motion.
2pointslow
Dumbells are harder to do then the bar fyi. power lifter here....just saying! 405 20 reps like it was nothing alot harder than 200lb dumbells

hpfiend
It all depends on what you are accustomed to- if you typically do flat bench with a bar and go to dumbells you better cut the weight huge or you are going to hurt yourself- if you go from dumbells to bar you will be able to lift more. Not as much balance and secondary muscles involved in the bar. This is why you see some of the more advanced weight lifters lift their legs off of the bench into the air while they are doing flat bench with a bar. 87GT
I never could afford a bench set. I always just lay on the floor and bench 2 dumbbells.
ShankroidBeast
Twelve reps with that weight is fucking amazing! That must be quite a cocktail of steroids/growth hormone/testosterone he must be on. I bet his spinkster muscle could crush a walnut!
