Installing a fence

I asked for help because I watched my neighbor instal his posts. By the time he was done it looked like he had to fight in the octagon for 8 straight hours.

The ground under the top soil is solid clay and rock :(

I don't recall what the cost per liniear foot was, but there are 29 posts with mine. 36" high at the low point. Done about 8 years ago for $2,700. No way I was going to do all that shit. Done in less than two days. I did install some nice copper post caps later :o

They did our next door neighbor's fence. We liked it and they have great prices. Tell them I referred you. Maybe they'll give me a discount. Hehe.

I'm most likely having them put in a deck this year too.

Thanks. I love the yard, hate the work it takes. Especially now as we've since added a huge planting bed along the whole back of the house / deck. Wife's desire but my work and caring for

We have three gates. A 48" one on the far left side / front. Partially hidden by the planting beds, but it at least allows for larger items to pass through. One on the other side/front and then one in the back so I have access to and can run the dogs in the field back there.

I also had them use screws vs nails in the far back corners near the electrical and phone boxes...which are pretty much hidden. This way if there is ever a need for the utility co. to replace them, they don't have to bust apart my fence to get to them. Just roll up a truck from the back-side/field and unscrew the fence. The posts will be there, but I'd rather have them replace 1 post than a 8'ft section of my entire fence that will then not match/be costly.

I also talked with my nieghbor on the left side and got him to use the same company and put up a matching fence around his yard. Heck, mine was done on the one side, so he decided to do the same and only had to flip the bill for 3 sides. Makes the yards look nice and consistant/uniform.

Nice yard and fence! I'll need a total of 18 posts. My neighbor has already built a fence so I only have to build 2 sides (1 gate).
