Went out with Alex to check out the damage. Took a few photos.

Snow on 270, near Main Street.

Broad Street. That's Mt. Carmel Hospital on the right. We came VERY close to getting stuck here.

My burried (and broken) AWD DSM.

And here is the avalanche that is building on the roof. Pretty impressive that it's holding together.

The roads are VERY bad out there, and Franklin county is under a Level 2 snow emergency. If you don't have 4wd/AWD stay at home. Alex's Accord almost got stuck a couple times.

going out to snowblow the driveway and the neighbor's driveway.

Don't waste your time. I just used Jason's snowblower to do our driveway. I'm pretty sure i wasted my time. Thanks tho Jason!

It's a whole different world since I moved to Utah. Snow falls like that are common and expected. This year was some of the 'biggest' snow falls in Utah for a few years.

I laugh (not inusltingly) when I read your guy's threads about "OMG we are getting 4 inches, prepare for the world to end" threads.

Out here, 4 inches is a dusting. 6 inches is nothing, and 8 inches just starts to be a concern. There were a few days this winter where I was driving to work with snow on the roads up to my bumper (in the 4x4 Ranger), hell in Ohio the roads would have been shut down at that point.

The drifting on the other hand is the killer.

My contribution to the snow pics. I decided to go have a little bit of fun in the snow. I ended up driving (more like drifting at 40mph ;)) through a few 3-4 foot snow drifts... 4 wheel drive FTMFW!!!!
