Tractor
Yeah 300 miles isn't far enough when requiring a 3.5 hour recharge time. I drive 100-250 miles per day so I would be right around the max in my daily driver. I'm sure the efficiency will increase as there are more companies competing. When one is built that can go for about a 15 hour trip at 70mph, can recharge in at least half that time, and is reliable up and over 150,000 miles with some regular maint then I'll be the first in line to buy one. I'd really like to see one capable of over 200,000 or even into the 300,000 mile quality like my `94 corolla:-) Evan
AutoFreak57
they produced this car to bring electric cars into the forefront and to show that they can be exciting. It is obviously not meant to be a daily driver. I mean, who wants to drive a lotus elise around every day?
Tractor
Well someone needs to step up to the plate and/or grow some balls and make a viable electric car for the masses. Ford did it in the last century. Evan

TheHaze
*raises hand* I would too, but not a Tesla, and not in the rain.

The biggest worry is the battery life, but they're warrenting them for 100,000 miles. I would definitely drive one every day. They're not exactly an Eilse. In fact they are quite different in nearly every aspect. Although the driver compartment is similar, along with the seats, but the side rails have been moved for easier ingress/egress. Why wouldn't you drive one in the rain? (or was that sarcasm)
s13
So would you great less miles per charge with the CD player and headlights on?
SpaceGhost
Love the car, if it was 50k I would find a way to swing the cash. I only put 12k miles on a car a year. 220 Mile per charge is fine for me. Would get me to and from work. My daughter will have to get a little older to ride in it. Nitrousbird
I tend to think I wouldn't daily drive any 100k car, regardless of how much per mile it cost. Maybe if I was uber rich, but then why would I give a crap about what mileage my vehicle got?
