kirks5oh
my brother has a 2003ish ford escape with a dim driver's side headlight. he tried changing the bulb, and it didn't fix the problem. we looked at the connector to the bulb, and it looked partially melted, so we just spliced in a new connector and it didn't fix the problem. the light is extremely dim, and does not brighten at all by putting the brights on. any ideas??? thanks kirk

kirks5oh
Sounds like a ground problem. i'll have to look a little more into things, and check the ground. i'm assuming its going to be grounded near the headlamp housing?
Dave1647545494
if you wired in a new connector figure out wich wire is the ground and jumper it to the battery and see if the bulb gets bright if it does just make a new ground you could also have high resistance in the hot wire but its unlikely

kirks5oh
it ended up being one of the relay fuses. i'm pretty sure the reason it was dim, and not completely out, was that it was getting some "retrograde current" from the other side. thanks guys
