So, I am my brother's best man and we've decided to rent limo bus and go down to Argosy and MAYBE hit up some clubs and whatnot.

Question is, who has been to Argosy and what should I expect? Im trying to figure out how much cash I should have on me. I had my debit and credit card but with things like this I prefer to just carry cash rather than using my card all the time. From what I understand it operates much like a regular casino so i think i'll be hitting up Texas hold 'em, Black Jack, maybe some slots if im bored. My friend wants me to play dice but I have no idea how to do that. Any recommendation's are welcome.

Argosy is about what you'd expect of a riverboat casino - not exactly high class and kind of small. Of course, I'm comparing it to the casinos in Vegas, and, well, there's really no comparison there. I think there's plenty to do there with respect to gambling - they have a poker room, they have slots, they have table games like blackjack, and so on and so forth. However, I'd have to say that, for a bachelor party, it won't be the most exciting atmosphere. Every time I've been there (which is about 10 times), there hasn't been much scenery. The patrons tend to be older and, well, hick-ish. No that there's anything wrong with that, it's just not the type of crowd I'd like to spend my last night of singlehood with, you know? Similarly, I don't know of many clubs around that area - in fact, the Argosy is kind of in the middle of nowhere.

In sum, the Argosy has enough to keep gamblers satisfied for a few hours, but the scenery is a little lacking.

Two words my man, VEGAS!

awesome.

Well Tilley you were right. The scenery was DEFINILTY lacking. Though I underestimated how much fun blackjack could really be. I had few hundred in cash on me but wasnt sure where the night would take us to I tried to limit how much fun I had. After all was said and done I only cashed in 120 for chips and after many highs and lows finally left with 55 in cash. Big deal.

But I did go with a good friend who frequents vegas alot and he told me its no comparisson, needless to say we're planning a trip within the next 6 months. One of the guys in our party played a .02$ slot and won 200.00 and the groom left up a grand so all is good.

After all was said and done we had a great time with a bunch of good friend. I wouldve been just as happy to bar hop or hit the slum clubs but my brother wanted this and thats what we did.
