Farkas
mixed city driving is better for break in rather than constant rpm highway driving..
Clifford Automotive
Break it in how its going to be driven.
Rally Pat
Break it in how its going to be driven. Near the rev limit 99% of the time?
Guest GMoney
Near the rev limit 99% of the time? How do you think most drag cars, road race, rally cars get broke-in.
tristanlee85
mixed city driving is better for break in rather than constant rpm highway driving.. You don't have to drive at a consistent speed. There's plenty of room and lanes to do pulls and hard decels. That's just personal preference though. At least on the interstate you'll be able to get the RPMs up high with a load on the engine rather than in the city unless of course the police are your friends and let you slide. DaddyBuiltRacing
How do you think most drag cars, road race, rally cars get broke-in. Yeah and they also plan on swapping motors every 2 races! Break it in by driving at different rpms. Honestly it should only take about 20mins for the rings to seat and thats what your really doing is allowing them to seat. Clifford Automotive
Near the rev limit 99% of the time? Thats the way I do it works like a charm. If its going to go better to do it now then later. Right?
tristanlee85
Engine dynos are expensive too. Obviously rates will change from place to place, but it was a little over $2000 for my friend. He decided to go this route because his cars would run about about 2 days then die. If you have the money though there isn't much to worry about. Guest Removed
fast racing has one....but wouldnt go there if it was free best way to do break in is chassis dyno aswell. you can also do it in the car, driving in cycles...(best way to seat the rings)

Smokey
http://www.miatapower.com/engine-break-in.htm original here: http://www.mototuneusa.com I agree with this and have yet to find a reason why this wouldn't apply to a rotary engine.
