It's ugly...but effective

The latest track look for the 996. Looks horrible but drives like a dream (once the tires come up to temp!).

my sweet pep boys muffler bypass pipes. Saved 56lbs off of the most important end of the car for <$10. They even sound cool for the first 7 minutes until you realize they drone at highway speed and give perma-headache instantly. However I can actually hear my car at the track now over the other cars.

Those are the after track photos from when I started to clean the car up to get all of the rubber boogars off of the car.

The black paint completely burned off of the pipes the first session of the first morning...pre-spin :)

you need some "after" photos of those hot-ass pipes after we rattle-bombed them black....pure stealth. hahaha

I as well like the business look, especially in person when you see the R888s.

Andy that exhaust is terrible hahaha.

Kinda embarassing too. I think I"m going to get a couple of mandrel (sp?) bent 90's from Jegs to make them a bit less hideous for upcoming track events. Mufflers are already back on there for street use however.

I wonder what the reaction is in other cars when people see your car then see your pipes.

Thankfully they're only used as track pipes because even I cringe then I see them. Nobody the whole Porsche Club weekend commented on them though. I think that's becuase I kept a respectable enough pace for nobody to poke fun. Pleanty of those guys got to see them after I passed them though! I've gotta get Tinman to make me a better cheap solution for future track days.

Ha...I appreciate the offer. The mufflers were the first thing to go back on the car after Mid Ohio. It now looks like this again.

Andy, come on now. There is no reason for the guy with the cleanest cars on CR to have those hanging out of the tail. You spend to much time in front of people on the track to have the rear of your car look like that.

You have a pretty nice collection of cars! Which one is your daily because they all look like toys to me!

Wife's daily is the red car.

My daily is the M3 when we don't have to detail.

I try to only drive the A4 on crappy days or days we detail....too many years of 20K+ miles per on that bad boy.
