If you've ever read about these on Thirdgen.org it is not safe. They are purely for show only, if you have the money to be using spacers stop being a cheapass and buy the right wheels for your offset so your not playing chance with shit. I've seen one to many horror pictures off thirdgen.org that I'll never run another spacer. Bottom line is even if there backed for life thats not going to save you when whatever happens and they find out you were running a spacer as on every box they read "Offroad Use Only."
