Flyin Miata
I've got pretty shaky hands, so I think I'll stay away from this method. Probably a good way to save some time though.
Main3s
That's one way of doing it. I wanted to see him polish the spokes that way.

sol740
Couldn't you use something else to hold it ? Like a grabber of some sort. Something where if you slip you don't lose a hand.

That may have been a bit smarter. His wheels turned out really good though.

2 Sweet
WOw, never seen that before. If he wants to take the risk, all the more power to him. Looks like he knows what he's doing and YEAH those turned out very nice. Interesting to say the least
Main3s
You can't argue with results. I though they would turn out a nice blood red color, you know, like the car.

LPFSTheFett
I really don't think it looks all that unsafe. As long as you took your time and didn't rush and paid attention to what your doing, I think you'd be fine. The problem is most people would fall into the wheel when they went to sit down or something. The main thing would be to hold your hand at an angle, so that if your fingers did hit the spokes, it moved them out of the way vs. jabing into your finger. You can touch a moving object, like a moving wheel, if you do it right.

BloodRed
That is pretty crazy to do them that way, but like you guys have said, you can't argue with those results. I know I don't have enough balls to try it.

Guest EM1 2ENVY
Midgets on step stools? that would sky rocket the business, midgets work fast and they can get into tight places.
