TTQ B4U Posted July 31, 2008 Report Share Posted July 31, 2008 exactly....and while I don't like the Scion's, I do see the reasons they came out with a relatively inexpensive brand targeting a very specific market that has plenty of aftermarket like options and desires. my sister has a Scion TC and loves it. not fast, but peppy and not bad looking. she paid like $17k new for it and it's far nicer than the comparable Civic. I can agree with you.. Toyota hasn't had a, "cool" car this century. But what they are doing, they do very well. The american market and demands a safe family car with known reliability and good gas mileage and this is what they gave us. Crossle Posted July 31, 2008 Report Share Posted July 31, 2008 I can appreciate everything, I grew up knowing muscle cars which is why the Trans Am is still one of my favorite cars, but growing up in this time I also have a great appreciation for imports...mainly Toyota. My favorite styling by far is European though, they are usually so clean. Hence why the Arthritis show is one of my favorites, it's just a huge appreciation for all cars. If people put their time and effort into it, there is no reason to not appreciate their work even if it is a lowrider, muscle car, import, off road truck, whatever. I mean the import sports or sporty cars. I have allways loved cars. Muscle cars and the '80 pony cars were my first passion, but when power and efficency became important to me I started looking at imports. That being said I can appreciate pretty much anything that is done well, but I'll never undestand the whole super swampers and 12" of lift stuff. I'm probly going to end up buying a Z32 tt soon. Overall though I like all cars I'm just more partial to imports because thats all I've ever owned. My dad always use to make fun of me if I would to drive a camaro because it would just not fit me. Either way I love being the underdog, I dont know how many ls1's (not all ls1's)use to pull up to me and get handed and thats the best feeling in the world when someone already thinks they are faster then you and you have alot more then they think, because they think imports are all about looks. I will even admire the properly done up system on a car. (Not I tossed 2 10s in my trunk). I Just love cars. Same here sir. My first car was a '92 Camaro v6, then I had my '03 Sentra Spec V(I'll always remember you bigbird haha), then my '87 Iroc with "goodies" and my '88 CRX SI beater, and now my Type-Slow...eventhough I still have the Iroc.
