Putty
Can you adjust the amount of water that goes in the actual bowl? Also, can you adjust how hard it flushes?
Lustalbert
You can adjust the amount, change the float height in the storage tank. As far as the velocity, check to see if you flapper valve is opening all the way. if it is, not much more you can do. Laying off the Chipotle may help prevent stoppage issues.

sol740
If you poo in the storage tank it makes everything work better.

Mensan
Some people use a brick or a gallon jug of water in the tank to offset the water as well.
jeffmeden
Getting a new flapper helps with flow. Don't ask me how I know.

SpaceGhost
People usually but bricks in the tank to REDUCE the water they use to flush, also that would negate the "increasing" flush pressure.
sol740
Hold the handle down for at least 30 seconds. After the flush has finished put bricks into the tank and release the handle, than remove the bricks when the nessesary water level is reached. Take the bricks to your nearest enviromentalist, hippie, hangout. Hit them with the bricks ... because they're the reason your flushes are so unsatisfactory. Putty
^^ so you want me to remove and enter the brick after each flush....that's too much. What determines the flush power? I need an Al Bundy furguson
Lustalbert
Flush power is a function of the design of the toilet. Some bowls just have the bowl washdown, then gravity does the rest. Not to great, but cheap to produce. The better ones have the jet hole at the bottom, much better for clearing that used burito, but still relies on the amount of energy that gravity can produce as the water falls from the tank to the bowl once the flapper valve is opened. If you want a really satifying flush, there are pressure tank kits that look like the standard tank and stay at the supply pressure untill you hit the handle. http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10051&langId=-1&catalogId=10053&productId=100409070&N=10000003+90401+501825 Makes a nice "bang" when you hit the handle, the one at work has never plugged up.
