justcause
So the wife and I decided to go to Old Man's cave Saturday. Took a lot of pictures with a polarized lens. The pictures turned out pretty good, but I still want to get a DSLR camera before the end of the year. http://s33.photobucket.com/albums/d60/moccabee/Old_Mans_Cave/?action=view¤t=3690f09c.pbw When I was going through the photos I did find something very interesting. In the middle of the rock face it appears to look like a skull. Take a look. http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d60/moccabee/Old_Mans_Cave/1df08736.jpg
Tractor
Oh wow your right I see a skull. I haven't been to that place for probably 5 years or so. I wanna go again. Evan

FourString
Whoa! That skull is some freaky shit. The outline of the rock on the left looks like a face too. I would assume this is why it is called Old Man Cave?
Science Abuse
Holy crap, they need some rain. I've never seen the falls stopped up. There's a pic on the internets some where showing Ash cave after a downpour; epic gushing, I'd like to go there during some storms. edit: here http://www.familyheritage.info/Ash%20Cave%20after%20a%20storm.jpg This is also cool, yes there are scrape marks onm it from car/van roofs. http://www.familyheritage.info/Leaning%20Rock%20along%20Clear%20Creek%20Road.jpg

Evan I've got some Ohio ice stuff here: http://www.summitpost.org/object_list.php?parent_id=269524&object_type=3 If it gets cold enough, Ohio is awesome. It makes a much better winter/cold state than a sumer/hot state.

Duff1647545513
I like going down there to old man's cave when i get the chance. There are a few spots if you wonder off the path quite a bit that make amazing views/pictures. I didn't take my camera last time so i don't have any pictures. But next time I go i'll be sure to get them for sure. Nice pics tho
spankis
I was going to add some really nice shots I have at Ash Cave, but when I went to convert them from RAW to jpeg, I see that my cracked copy of CS3 is now requesting activation and not working. I saw an adobe updater thing running in the background earlier and stupidly assumed it was Acrobat, apparently it was my pirated copy sending a homing signal to the adobe mothership . Not to hijack, but does anyone know of a quick fix other than re-installing and disabling updates?
Chad is Dead
Nice pic! The Rock House down there is cool too. Ya the rock house is definately cool! I would go more often but after I got my $100 ticket at old mans cave for going 30ft off the path I can't go back or I go to jail for 4 days{seriously..wtf}.......But ya, theres so much cool shit up in hocking. The only thing I was dissapointed about was rock bridge. I canooed 3 miles and it was a stop on the way. I was interested for about 3 minutes and jumped back in the canoe. I would never walk there. ImUrOBGYN
Last time I was there I was all over the place taking pics. I will say I am careful not to destroy shit when i go off trail, but seriously, wtf. I'm not allowed to stroll around and enjoy fucking nature, now? And if they come after me, are they really going to chase me through the woods? Through experience, I say, "No."
Science Abuse
I'm also willing to bet that I can cover ground faster than they.... but then again, they control the exits. The chances of escape once you've been identified are slim. Even if you climb out, there's a solid chance that you'll be spotted. So, best just to kill the ranger that catches you in the first place. spankis
I wanted to add my own pics as mentioned earlier, and the photoshop gods wouldn't let me convert the raws until just a minute ago. These are a couple of the best from the most recent time I was there with a camera. http://i180.photobucket.com/albums/x33/spankis/DSC_0108edited.jpg http://i180.photobucket.com/albums/x33/spankis/DSC_0115edited.jpg Long exposure ftw! I played around with pretty much nothing but those types of photos for a few months there...now onto hdr stuff hopefully .
