nuinqua
How many plugs can you plug into a tire? Is there a limit? I got a tire with 2 plugs already in it and I found 3 more leaks. Thanks.
Cordell
Not supposed to plug them more than 3 times, but who knows who came up with that rule. At some point you have to stop being a cheapskate, and buy a tire.
Jizzle Juice
Yeah i hear the magic number is three. thats what we use here at the dealership after that we try and sell tires
nurkvinny
There is no real limit. But, used tires are $10. How much have you spent on plugs?
Guest Removed
Tech tire plugs are suppose to be good even in sidewalls. they drill like 60 plus holes in the sidewall of a civic and plugged them with there plugs and drove the car......for thousands of miles! nuinqua
We sold them a tire, 2 of the leaks were less than 1/2 inch apart.
Guest mitsumodder
to be exact...there is a max of 4 allowed but only if you can split the tire into 4 equal quadrants and there ends up being only 1 plug per quadrant. if this is not possible then a new tire must be purchased. Kevin R.
i believe this is the federal safety law. Correct. However, if we are talking about plugs, I believe you can only use patches according to Federal law. At least that is what they told us at NTB. Guest mitsumodder
sorry, you are correct...i forget that "plugs" exist. they are dangerous and a temp. fix that i would NEVER use.
