hpfiend
Hey guys- Anyone know how to take apart the new style automotive plugs that have a white "key" insert? This is not a waterproof plug. It is black, the wires enter from the rear, has snap clip on one side you depress to remove and the other side has this white insert with little depressions on the sides and the top edge.. I will take a pic when I get home. Thanks, Andrew Came off a mirror from an 05 maxima
Guest mitsumodder
you will need a very small pin or like object. usually you want to push it in the plugging end of the connector as you push the wire in gently. as the pin/tool slides all the way in and releases the lock you should be able to pull the wire out. it is tedious work...be careful and have lots of patients. hpfiend
Thanks for the tip- I was familiar with that way but I thought this white key section would make it a lot easier if I could just get it to release... I boogered it up pretty bad already- should only be cosmetic damage but dont want to go further... I will try the safety pin trick when I get home. Thanks!
