Cordell
Well I got the driver side head off. The pics pretty much speak for themselves. http://i405.photobucket.com/albums/pp133/ND2RACE/CIMG0271.jpg http://i405.photobucket.com/albums/pp133/ND2RACE/CIMG0273.jpg http://i405.photobucket.com/albums/pp133/ND2RACE/CIMG0281.jpg http://i405.photobucket.com/albums/pp133/ND2RACE/CIMG0280.jpg
Cordell
So I'd say it went lean. Let this be a lesson to everyone. One bank of cylinders are not always very close to the other. I'll be putting a wideband in the other header when this all goes back together. Thats racin', time to make it better.
starkmaster03
Damn a piston and a valve in different cylinders.
kenny
Has anyone ever ran 8 EGT sensors on a LSx? With turbo Regals the #6 cylinder gets far more airflow than the rest, a company makes a plate to fix that... Sucks, but can't say I'm shocked about your findings. Didn't look anything like a head gasket to me.

Didn't look anything like a head gasket to me. I wasn't surprised, just dissapointed that the drivers side bank got that much leaner. I'd bet the passenger side is fine, doesn't really matter anyway. I'm thinking forged pistons, total seal rings, and new cylinder heads FTW.
DTM Brian
When using nitrous. It pays to pull plugs every pass to make sure all the plugs are burning the same. At least untill you get a hold on things.

Doc1647545523
I think at least some of the cost of the repair should be shared by whomever you were racing when this happened. Do you remember who was in the other lane, pressuring you to push it too hard?

Cordell
How cold a plug, what oct fuel, how much timing and how big a shot? NGK TR6s, 100 octane sunoco race fuel, 23 deg timing, 175 shot. Wideband showed 11.8 but it was in the other bank of cylinders.

Damn man IPS sales rep much? If anyone thinks I'll stop building my own stuff because of this you would be wrong. I (yes I said I) fucked it up, and I'll fix it. I have no one to blame but me. I set everything up and accomplished just what I wanted, I beat Anthony, I got kicked out that last pass for going too fast (yes that is why they stopped me), and I found out the hard way how to use nitrous. I wanted to break into the 10s, but I will next time.
