Stimmel1647545512
How can I tell the difference between a gt 5.0 motor and a cobra 5.0 motor? Cobra motors had the cobra intake different valve covers and "3 bar" GT40 heads People will try to tell you they have a cobra motor just by throwing a cobra intake and valve covers on it dont be fooled you are better buying a short block and building somehting on your own this is a cobra intake http://parts.factoryfive.com/Ford/pictures/14344.jpg dont let people tell you its a cobra motor because it has that, the main thing to look for is the 3 bars on the front of the heads

hpfiend
+1 on what he said- In addition cars equipped with Cobra engines have an X3Z PCM, 24 lb injectors, a 65mm TB and 65 or 70mm MAF if I remember correctly. a 95-97 explorer motor is basically a cobra motor. Guest Removed
the gt40p flow better, but they have angle plugs that dont work with most headers or turbo kits. when ported they flow even better. but still , the normal gt40's can flow like mad with the correct mods done to them
