Recommend me a video card!!

87GT

Recommended Posts

I am going to buy a video card for my new PC rig tomorrow probably at microcenter. I have never had a board that has a PCI-E slot so I am not sure what the best card would be. I want to spend up to $100 for one and looking for one with 512MB ram in it. I want to use it for gaming mostly.

If it helps I bought the parts Biggu was selling. So I have AMD 3.0ghz dual core, 4GB RAM, and a 10,000RPM SATA HD.

9800 GT is probably the best around that range , ive been seeing alot of people doing 8800 GT also.

i know its going to sound biased but if you get a card id recommend getting a EVGA, as long as you register your card online you automatically get life time warranty

the 9800Gt is a great card I've got a pair in SLi and fallout 3 runs great. What I would consider also is the ATI's I've not owned a ATI for years but the new ones on the benchmarks look great for the price.

Check out guru3d.com and read the VGA Charts

9800GT vs 8800GTS (G92 version)

I'd go for a 8800GTS 512MB (G92 version) or a HD3870 myself.

For a little more $, you can grab a HD4850.
