justcause
So I have been renting the house I am currently in for roughly 5 1/2 years. When I signed the original lease aggreement it was with another person who at the time was buying the house under a land contract. Shortly after I moved in he decided he no longer wanted the house and returned it to the original owner. I never signed a new lease after the original one. I also paid a $900 security deposit when I first moved in. Since I never signed a new lease with the original owner of the house what am I liable for when it comes to repairs of the house when I move out? The carpet will need to be replaced for sure. I have repainted the walls also ran network cable throughout the house, which I had his permission to do prior to running the cable.
Conesmasher
Depends on your original agreement. Does it state how to deal with those instances?
justcause
Since my original lease was a 1 year lease with a different person, will I be held to this lease by the curent owner?
LJ
Carpet is a wear item, you shouldn't be liable for it after 5 1/2 years We always replaced with no charge after 2 years if it needed it.
