I don't care what it looks like, I just need something that I don't have to put any money into and can get me to work and back for at least a month.

I've got 2 cars that need work and I need something to drive during the downtime.

Please tell me someone's got something!

Thanks.

In the summer of 07 I bought a 1988 CRX Si for $650 bucks that needed an oil change, but I never changed it. I drove it for almost a year without an oil change, probably racked up 11,000 miles without one, sold it to my buddy. He bought it for $450..probably one of the best cars I've ever bought.

Deals are out there guys, just keep a sharp eye open.

My buddy sold his 88 CRX Si in 07. Suspension clunks like nothing else, 1/4 of the body was missing in rust. 210k+ miles. The car was so drafty it had black duct tape on it to make it liveable. Heater controls were all f'ed up. No radio.

Listed it on CL for $800, sold the same day with tons of people calling. Sold for asking price; he should have asked for more.

Go to the auto auction at Volunteers of America on W. Broad on Saturday. You can sign in at the desk and then go out and bid on whatever you like. They have some decent deals occasionally.

I bought a 92 323 there 2 years ago for and it's still running great today. They won't sell anything for less than $200 and you have to have a minimum of $100 cash to hand over as soon as you win the bid or they'll re-sell the vehicle to someone else. Balance must be paid by the end of the day. You can view and start the cars on Fridays from 11:00 to 13:00 and the auction starts at 10:00 Saturdays.

Hatch? I had a 92 hatch and that was the most reliable beater I have ever owned! By far.

How's the shifter slop?

It's a Hatch with over 200K on the clock. When I first got the car the shifter slop was unbearable. I added a short throw shifter with the self lubricating bushings so now the slop is tolerable. I would love to drop a BPT in it.
