unfunnyryan
I decided today (and yesterday) would be a good days to clean up my car. One thing I really wanted to do is get rid of the ugly wax stains and dirt in the trim of my car. The trim is textured and its sort of porous, so in the past when I was careless it would absorb wax and gunk. Heres the drivers door yesterday before I got started. http://i40.tinypic.com/33ffbzt.jpg You can see the white spots where wax hit it and dried up. Mothers back to black would just mask it but would not get it out. Heres todays result. Shiny, smooth, and the trim is flawless. The only thing I have used on it is JIF Peanut Butter rubbed in with a latex glove, then wiped off with paper towels. I was shocked at how much stuff the peanut oils were lifting out of the trim, as the paper towels were disgusting when I finished. http://i44.tinypic.com/nnocpf.jpg Heres another picture just for the hell of it. http://i39.tinypic.com/29mm2vc.jpg

AudiOn19s
PB is one of the older tricks in the book for getting residue out of those pesky textured plastic surfaces. Glad to see you had success with it. Andy

AudiOn19s
Andy do you offer this service? haha Ha...I'm gonna have to add that one to the website p.s. an old tooth brush really works well for working the PB into all of the little pores of the plastic. Skinner
wouldn't peanut oil do the same thing minus the mess?
AudiOn19s
wouldn't peanut oil do the same thing minus the mess? It really needs to sit on there and get worked in pretty well to do it's job. The oil itself would almost be more of a mess running down the side of the car. PB will stay put unless it's really warm out and most people have it laying around the house vs. the oil.
unfunnyryan
wouldn't peanut oil do the same thing minus the mess? Peanut butter rubs in nicely and is easy to apply. You don't need much at all either, it spreads pretty easily on the trim too.
unfunnyryan
Heres a daylight picture. http://i41.tinypic.com/6isp41.jpg You can see I missed a little bit of the peanut butter on the lower trim near the rear door. Also I need to clean out the rear door handle area, which I swear only looks like that in pictures.

unfunnyryan
I know you really thought about licking the peanut butter off the trim.. don't lie. I couldn't resist eating some of it out of the bowl I had it in. But honestly, even after thoroughly washing the car, the stuff that I was able to pull from the trim was nasty. I'll probably be doing this again in the spring to get all the salt out of the trim.
