Oh shit

A friend and I were out last night doing some test pulls and some shit went down in the cobra. 4th gear @ 5,000 rpm we feel shake and "kaboooooooooom" and the car starts spitting out and smoking (oil smoke). I was thankfully two minutes from home and limped it there with it running like shit the whole way.

I'm pulling the motor and running all new gaskets throughout but I have been too discouraged to even look under the hood yet. Take a surmise here - what do you think happened? I was hoping the exhaust backfire was just a rich backfire & fouled plug, but the oil pouring out is another mess.

Little cold last night to be out doing 4th gear pulls eh? Was it even tuned yet?

Ya it is a bit cold. We were it the stock bank, we weren't even all in it.

Don't those block crack easy?

I'm on too low of boost to do that right now.

Sure it didnt kick an intercooler coupler and tank the chinaturbo?

Is it tuned yet?

I've got a Garrett 62mm journal bearing turbo.

No I was hoping to bring it to you in the spring. Brian insisted I do so.

Ohh, I thought you had a MP, though I've killed as many "good" turbo's as chinaturbos.

How much boost? did you have the timing locked out? If so how much? Do you have a wideband? If so what was the AFR?

5 Psi with 6 spikes, timing @ 16 degrees. We hooked a wideband up to it and was running in the 12's but it was borrowed. So I have no clue what it was at last night...
