ZappBrannigan
I want some opinions. Replacing my hood sometime soon here (hail damage).. should i search for a used stock hood and just repaint it or pay an extra buck to get a performance hood (not CF). I've never been a fan of modified hoods but this one seems pretty slick, and it looks like the vents actually have a purpose. http://www.z1motorsports.com/product_info.php?cPath=6_12&products_id=2929
Smokey
I'd pass on grass on that one. It also looks like the rear vents wouldn't work that great since they're up by the base of the windshield which is an area of high pressure. Are underhood temps an issue on the Z32? I don't really like my vented hood on my FD but it's somewhat of a need due to the major heat the rotary puts out. I vote stock.
Crossle
I personally think that since your Z is pretty much stock body wise (correct me if I'm wrong) that it may look a little funny to me. If you were to have a little more body work I feel like it would suit the car a little better. I think that it would not flow right. Spark Notes - Keep it stock, unless you are doing more bodywork down the road.
vitamincj
If the vents are really functional or you plan on making them functional then great! If they are aren't functional then that is pretty...lame. But it's your car not mine. CJ
schmuckingham
My Lightning had a twin scopp hood that looked ok and was functional, I only kept it for the heat dispersion
Tim Davis
A vented hood on a Z32 can be beneficial but it can also have adverse effects. Z32's are already prone to corroded harness' and a vented hood can allow water to hit directly on the the injector , cas, and ptu harness'. Not an issue if the car never sees rain. The Escort Racing hood isn't as bad as some of the cheaper versions. The VIS hood dumps water right on the top of the motor, even when just washing the car.
Nitrousbird
If it has to have hood pins - pass. If not, it is alright.

Aesthetic_Influx
Like we talked about, I think the Escort hood would be the only one worth considering. That or picking up an OEM one and having it custom cut; but that's going to be pricey and time consuming. Why are you even thinking about this now - you should be buying your damn suspension parts right now. Today. EDIT: Found a picture that might stir some thoughts; not a fan of the hood pins though. This hood is JUN by the way. http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f213/emxracer/VP__4380.jpg http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f213/emxracer/VP__2783.jpg
sol740
^ that one looks good, and is subtle, not hurting any lines. Suspension is hotness though.
Devils Advocate
I believe the proper spelling is Hood PinZ.
ZappBrannigan
I'd pass on grass on that one. It also looks like the rear vents wouldn't work that great since they're up by the base of the windshield which is an area of high pressure. Good point. Thanks for the input guys, think ill just buy a used stock and repaint it. Its cheaper anyways, and the lines might not match my stock look. I love the jun hood but they stopped making it, probably because nobody ever replaces the lightweight hood on the Z unless its damaged. Oh and mike I got my suspension, when you helping me install it?
Rally Pat
Only get a vented hood if you are using it to get rid of some extra heat.
Ry_Trapp01647545522
that hood is ghey, but the JUN hood looks pretty good(AND WOULD ACTUALLY WORK).
