My friend asked me to post this for him. I've used his equipment alongside mine and can speak for the quality and great condition:

I’m listing for sale a used Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi (digital SLR camera) and a full bundle of accessories perfect for any photographer. I’m a college student who was majoring in photography and I’ve changed my major and won’t need to hold onto my photography equipment. Below I’ve listed everything that comes with the camera and its’ manufacturer’s webpage for information on each specific item.

I have every box and all manuals that came with the packaging. All of the equipment has been very lightly used and it’s all in very good condition. I’ve included below a few pictures of the equipment boxes, tripod, and camera bag. I’ve also posted a few pictures that I have personally taken with this camera body and lens. I paid a little over $1500 for everything included in the bundle, and I’m asking for $800 for everything. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me via e-mail at emperorboonday@yahoo.com. Thanks for looking!

Pretty good deal....

The body is averaging 550 right now. The 17-85IS is selling for 450, plus 30 for the hood. And the other items. If he doesnt include the kit lens it can be had for 30-50 bucks.

Anyone that wants to try to get into D-photography, I would recommend picking this up. Great setup with a good lense.

Free bump. Good luck.

Any low light / nighttime examples? This might be worth pulling out some savings for, my AE-1 seems to be on its last legs.

Miguel, I can't see photobucket from the office, but if I like what I see when I get home, I'll take the whole package.

check out my low light shot section from the 20D/40D. just make sure you're on a decent monitor that is close to good in calibration.....you can get 98% the same result with the camera 4-sale here when combined with proper post processing. it's a nice set up for sure......come to the dark-side my son...... :D

360Iroc, I'm not buying. Seller doesn't have any of the original receipts, and while it may have been a twisted joke that has backfired on him (he hasn't written back), he asked for the money in cash.

Oh....my....god.

1. Check your email, he told me he has emailed you twice since last you responded, yet you refuse to respond. The few times you did respond, it appears you were rude/sarcastic.

2. When someone requires cash for a sale, it's to protect their own back. It is ABSOLUTELY not uncalled for or unheard of to call for cash. I wouldn't expect any sane person to accept a check, give the buyer your stuff and then hope to god that their check clears in the next week.

3. The seller is a personal friend of mine for the last 10+ years. He rarely sells his possessions. He's the most honest person I know. You may ask why he doesn't have his receipts: we both bought cameras together over a year ago for a photography major at OSU, in which case both of us have switched from. At that point in a college career, why would he think to keep his receipts? (Canon and Cord Camera stores have always been helpful and responsive even to me, who also has no receipts for his equipment.)

4. $800 is a great deal. It isn't "half the price" of used camera gear. Obviously the items here have depreciated, but he just wants a quick sale. If he sold on eBay, he'd get raped with seller fees and shipping/insurance.

5. Also, I believe he would accept cashier's check or money order, yet you still deferred. Sounds a "little" suspicious.

Dear God I need to get a D20 or D40 with a good lens, just no funds available at the moment.

1. Unless gmail is having issues, I've not received anything since 1159pm. I can forward you everything if he thinks I'm being rude/sarcastic, because until the "I'll only accept cash" note, everything was quite friendly. After that, I sent "Better be a joke, I'm not going anywhere with $800 in cash." You say he wants to protect himself, I'm in the same boat. That much dough is crazy to just have in the glove box, and if I go to the bank and ask for that, they're going to get really suspicious really fast.

2. This issue is easily resolved by asking for a money order or cashier's check from a bank. This solves a couple of problems...

- Since they're drawn on bank funds, there's no issue of whether or not it'll clear

- Both can be made out to a specific person, negating the worry of carrying around cash

- Many banks will allow you to put a 'memo' in the bottom corner just like a regular check, so the bank understands why you're pulling out all that money, removing the "Why's this guy want so much cash so fast" curiousity

3. My spidey-sense starts itching when dealing with large purchases that don't have docs to back them up. You'd want to see the title for a car, even if you're buying it for $1000, right? This isn't any different.

4. I know it's a great deal, that why I've been so interested. But when he sent "I forgot to mention that I will only accept cash - no checks or anything like that", I really got turned around. Again, nobody I know likes carrying around that sort of cash.

5. If he'll take CC or MO, the deal's back on :)

Again, something must be fubar with my email, because 1159p is the last I received from him. If he sent anything between 1204a (when I was like "Cash?? wtf?" and 1254a (when I was like "Dude, this just doesn't feel right to me"), I never got it, and apologize if I rubbed him wrong not realizing there was a message I didn't get. Have him call me, and if the CC/MO is fine with him, I'll even buy his burrito.
