ttemper Posted February 2, 2009 Report Share Posted February 2, 2009 I installed a new heatseak/fan on my geforce 5700 ultra video card. however, i forgot to plug in the 4 pin molex connector to the video card upon booting the machine. the monitor has power, but wouldnt boot from the machine.(for lack of a better description) i turned off the machine after realizing i didnt plug in the power cord, and plugged it in...but the monitor still wont turn on. everything else is fine as far as i can tell. would me turning on the computer without having the power cord plugged in do anything? it worked fine untill i messed with everything. any help would greatly be appreciated. justinwebb Posted February 2, 2009 Report Share Posted February 2, 2009 do you have another form of onboard video on the motherboard? 87GT Posted February 2, 2009 Report Share Posted February 2, 2009 Borrow a friend's video card and just install that one. If it works then you fucked up your first card. If not something else is wrong. Try to reseat plug, unplug EVERYTHING in your box. You could have bumped or nudged something out of place when you first took out your video card. justinwebb Posted February 2, 2009 Report Share Posted February 2, 2009 well it cant hurt to reset the bios either it will just lose any custom things you have done to it like overclocking and such.
