Dave1647545494
I can remember people all over the world being worried when that reactor blew becuase nobody knew how far the radiation was going to go that shit is scary to see columbus is only a 100 miles or so from a reactor even bigger than the one that blew up in russia
wheezy
I posted this a few years ago. Neat to see it again. I'm pretty sure she wasn't actually alone and was escorted by someone. Just got Stalker: Shadow of Chernobyl and I didn't like it at first but I guess Ill give it another try.
xlr8tn
first time I've ever seen that. Very good read. I read an article in national geographic a few years ago on pripyat and it wasn't as good as hers.....their pictures were higher quality though. Sparky
Theres quite an argument whether the story part is real or not. Im not sure what to believe. Seems like a hell of a story which leads me to believe a lil too good to be true sort of thing. Either way it was worth the read.
xlr8tn
what's in question? Her story was on par with the nat geo story. The nat geo put a few more people trying to live in the area than she did but who knows when either story was written.
Sparky
There were questions whether she could have gotten in the zone at all. There were a couple other irregularities. Such as the part about her dad being a nuke scientist was completely false. Heres some hi-res shots. http://www.elenafilatova.com/ Heres an article on a random site with a legit link to the NYTimes article. http://www.auntt.com/archives/2005/06/
Patrick
Soviet Russia...we have a lot better engineering and staffing than them. Even back then. People do go into the core, but for like 15 minutes at a time. Current sarcophagus is complete junk. Anyone seen the video of the heli flying around shortly after the accident? The gamma rays are just EATING the film.
xlr8tn
well, hoax or not it was a pretty good read. Her story is fact base though I think....even if she didn't go for a ride through the area. I'd have to try and find that nat geo article. There were some similarities in the pictures. Nat geo's had several of that school. Here, I found the link at their site although this isn't the complete story. Only a tiny bit of it. http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2006/04/photogalleries/chernobyl/
Patrick
I believe the motorcycle girl has videos on youtube or somewhere.
kenny
If I remember right that was a hoax, but it was cool none the less. The events that led to the Chernobyl incident are so retarded it hurts my brain.
ImUrOBGYN
Watched a real good program on NatGeoHD or Discovery or some shit awhile back. It was a nature program that revolved around that area. Real good show. Pretty amazing stuff.
