RedRocket1647545505
Why do police need a faster car? So 'World's most amazing police chases' can stop showing reruns?
Devils Advocate
So 'World's most amazing police chases' can stop showing reruns? Could also spawn a sister series, airing directly afterwards: 'Worlds most hilarious Lawsuits"
SpaceGhost
So 'World's most amazing police chases' can stop showing reruns? and quit adding squealing tire noises to the show when the car is tearing through a corn field. :bangbang:
99FLHRCI
Dodge. So the question is: What's cheaper? This car or a converted Charger/Vic/etc? http://www.carbonmotors.com/pdf/comparison.pdf The Carbon E7 comes turnkey. Not only does that save on conversion costs it also makes a safer vehicle. Things like no lap tops flying around the car when involved in a wreck. It also allows for easier in and out for the cops and the arrested. This (according to there website) is where the majority of officer related injuries occur. Sounds like a big savings to the taxpayer in the form of less workman's comp. El Karacho1647545492
Hmmmm cupholders. Those sure are conducive to catching criminals. anyways, aren't those backseats specifically designed so they're "comfortable" enough when you're riding with handcuffs on? Sounds like a big savings to the taxpayer in the form of less workman's comp. I don't see a price comparison in that pdf. Features and safety don't mean it'll be used. It's comes down to cost, period. There are breather/Infra-red vision systems for firefighters that, by increasing survivability and visibility in smoke-filled buildings can save thousands of lives per year. But only a handfull are actually in use, because they cost so much. The people who do the budgets don't give a shit about the safety of our emergency personnel if it's going to cost more. I just don't see how a small company is going to essentially build a car with a ton of custom, low-volume parts for cheaper than a stripped out charger with some interior work. It's a great idea, no doubt. But this specialized emergency hardware only flies with investors because the real emergency departments can't afford it. You'll really only see these in use in Movies and CSI episodes. I wish it weren't the case, but it is.
